The Sprut-SDM1 MGS is an assault gun featured in Squad, introduced in Version 5.0 for the Russian Airborne Forces (VDV) faction. It is also the first two vehicles in the new Mobile Gun Systems (MGS) vehicle class.

General information

Based on the chassis of BMD-4M, Sprut-SDM1 is an airborne-capable, amphibious assault gun used by Russian Airborne Forces. Armed with a powerful 125mm 2A45 tank gun, highly mobile chassis, and remote weapon station for the commander, Sprut-SDM1 represents the most modern arsenal in the VDV.

Gameplay

• The Sprut-SDM1 is operated by three crewmen, the driver, the gunner, and the commander.
• The Sprut-SDM1 and the BMD-4M are the only IFVs/tank hunter vehicles with a commander optic that features stabilization. The BMD-1M lacks that feature.
• The Sprut-SDM1 is fully amphibious.
• Interestingly, unlike the BMD-4M, but just like the BMD-1M, the Sprut-SDM1 cannot be instantly destroyed by using a TOW. However when hit in the rear or on the top-rear of the hull, its ammunition will cook off.
