The SOR-9 is a 9mm semi-automatic striker-fired pistol manufactured by Turkish firearms. Known for its reliability and ergonomic design, the SOR 9 features a polymer frame, interchangeable backstraps, and a 17-round magazine capacity.
The sights for the SOR-9 include the iron sights only.
The iron sights have a fixed zero of 50m.
The SOR-9 shares its damage model and ballistic performance with M9A1, M17 MHS and QSZ92.
The 652 rounds per minute is the maximum allowed rate of fire for the semi-automatic pistol.
The SOR-9 is classified in-game as the Pistol. Pistols are backup weapons with low stopping power and minimal suppression effect. They have moderate sway, regular point fire responsiveness, and slightly more recoil than Carbines due to their unsupported nature. Changing stances have minimal impact on Pistol's recoil and sway.
Using Pistols as a primary is not a good idea due to the low damage and severe damage dropoff at range, as they don't necessarily have more controllability than Short Rifles. But it can save your life in a pinch when the enemy is caught reloading or when your primary weapon is out of ammo.
History
Built on top of the HK VP9 platform, the SAR-9 is a pistol developed by Sarsilmaz Silah Sanayi A.Ş. in Turkey. The SAR-9 was introduced in around 2018, and is the current service pistol of the Turkish Armed Forces. It is renamed SOR-9 in-game, likely for copyright reasons.
