The People’s Liberation Army Navy Marine Corps (PLANMC) or the PLA Navy Marine Corps is a playable faction in Squad since Version 5.0. This faction is the 11th playable faction and the ninth conventional military featured in the game.

History

Founded in 1953, the PLA Navy Marine Corps fields six marine brigades, focusing primarily on projecting military power within the South China Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The lighter marine forces rely on greater flexibility than the heavier army amphibious combined arms brigades. Each marine brigade contains heavy, medium, and light battalions fielding a variety of dedicated amphibious fighting vehicles, including ZBD05 IFVs, ZSD05 APCs, and ZTD05 amphibious assault guns.

The flag representing the People’s Liberation Army Navy Marine Corps in Squad is the PLA Naval Ensign. It consists of a red background with blue and white stripes at the lower third and a yellow star at the canton, alongside the Chinese numerals for "8" and "1" (八一), which is the date of the PLA's establishment on August 1, 1927.

In-game Equipment

The PLA Navy Marine Corps largely shares its armament with the regular PLA ground forces. Most kits use a shorter QBZ95B-1 carbine instead of the longer assault rifle. The infantry equipment, uniforms, and vehicles can be easily identified with the distinguishable blue digital camouflage of the PLA Navy.

The PLANMC utilizes high-speed amphibious vehicles, such as ZBD05 and ZTD05. This is the only faction in-game without Main Battle Tanks in its vehicle roster, severely limiting the faction's armor-fighting capability. Various factors result in PLANMC being one of the most challenging factions to play.
