The People’s Liberation Army Amphibious Ground Force (PLAAGF) is a playable faction in Squad. This faction is the 14th playable faction and the 12th conventional army featured in the game.

This faction were several special divisions introduced in Version 5.0, which uses high-speed amphibious vehicles from the PLA Navy Marine Corps but with army-style camouflage paints. The division became a standalone faction in Version 7.2.

History[]

People’s Liberation Army Ground Force Amphibious Assault Brigades are a type of Combined Arms Bridges formation within People’s Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF), the land warfare branch of the PLA. In reality, they are not separate branch of service but operational units subordinated to PLAGF's combined corps.

Flag[]

The flag representing the People’s Liberation Army Amphibious Ground Force in Squad is a modified version of the PLA Naval Ensign. It consists of a red background with green (instead of the normal blue) and white stripes at the lower third, and a yellow star at the canton, alongside the Chinese numerals for "8" and "1" (八一), which is the date of the PLA's establishment on August 1, 1927.

In-game Equipment[]

The People’s Liberation Army Amphibious Ground Force uses modern Chinese weaponry with proprietary design, typical of the PLA during the early 2010s. The infantry weapons are based on the Chinese QBZ95 series and its derivatives, with their iconic bullpup layout. The heavy anti-tank kit is equipped with a unique launcher with a laser rangefinder.

The PLAAGF vehicle lineup sits in a niche position between the regular PLA and PLANMC. They have access to both the Marine's ZBD05 series amphibious vehicles and the Army's ZTZ99A main battle tanks. However, the overall faction arsenal is comparably limited, without access to any wheeled IFVs.
