Gameplay
- The PKP Pecheneg ammo box holds 100 rounds.
- The PKP Pecheneg has a long reload time as a belt-fed machine gun.
- The PKP Pecheneg is fitted with a deployable bipod.
- Every 4th round is a tracer round.
- The sights for the PKP Pecheneg include iron sights and 1P78 (2.8×) optical sight.
- The iron sights allow the user to zero the rifle for different ranges (from 100m to 1500m).
- The 1P78 (2.8×) optical sight allows the user to see enemies from long distances easily and engage enemies at longer ranges without the need to zero the weapon.
- The PKP Pecheneg shares its damage model with the PKM, but with a slightly improved accuracy at 4 MOA.
- Aside from Sniper Rifles and Battle Rifles, PKP Pecheneg and PKM have the highest damage out of all light weapons in-game, at whopping 97. They also have one of the longest effective ranges, outranging NATO and Chinese GPMGs. This is compensated by slightly slower muzzle velocities and slightly lower accuracy.
- The PKP Pecheneg is classified in-game as the Medium Machine Guns. Medium Machine Guns have extremely uncontrollable sway, inadequate point fire responsiveness, and excessive recoil. Sway and recoil can be significantly reduced via prone or bipod. They output most suppression effects and are effective at medium to long ranges.
- Firing the weapon with the bipod deployed is always preferred, creating a highly stable and accurate fire support platform. If the bipod cannot be used, firing the gun from the prone position is the next best option.
- Firing in short bursts will increase the overall accuracy. It will also conserve ammunition.
- While the PKP Pecheneg is able to destroy wheels of all vehicles, it will not hurt hostile armored vehicles. It can be used effectively against Technicals, Transports, or Logistics Trucks to kill or wound the occupants and destroy their wheels. It will also destroy Motorcycles.
- The PKM can penetrate bulletproof windows on light vehicles.
History
The Pecheneg (Russian: Печенег), also referred to as the "PKP" is a Russian 7.62x54mmR general-purpose machine gun. It is a further development and modification of the PK machine gun, hence the PKP name, as in PK Pecheneg. It is said to be more accurate than all its predecessors due to a heavier, non-removable, forced-air-cooling barrel with radial cooling ribs and a handle that eliminates the haze effect from hot gases and keeps the barrel cooler, making the weapon more reliable. Furthermore, the weapon is capable of having a telescopic sight or other sights mounted on it, increasing its accuracy and effective range.

Trivia
