The MPT-76, or Milli Piyade Tüfeği 76, is a domestically-produced infantry rifle employed by the Turkish Armed Forces. This gas piston-operated rifle boasts a modular design with Picatinny rails for accessory attachment, providing customization for different missions.
It has 2 fire modes, semi-automatic and fully-automatic.
The sights available for the MPT-76 are the flip-up iron sights, HNA holographic sight, and A940 (1-4×) scope.
The flip-up iron sight allows the user to zero the rifle for different ranges (from 100-500m.)
The HNA holographic sight allows a clear sight picture for close-range combat, but it doesn't allow zeroing, limiting long-range effectiveness.
The A940 (1-4×) optical sight allows the user to target and engage enemies at longer ranges without the need to zero the weapon. The variable zoom function allows for increased versatility in target acquisition across different ranges.
MPT-76 largely shares its damage model and ballistic performance with G3A3, FN FAL, G3A4, and G3KA4.
They have one of the highest damage for light weapons in-game, at 165. This damage offers devastating firepower, enabling one-shot kill capability at close to medium range.
The 632 rounds per minute rate of fire is on the low end for an automatic weapon, though slightly higher than other Battle Rifles.
The MPT-76 is classified in-game as a Battle Rifle. Battle Rifles have handling characteristics in-between Full-Length Rifles and Medium Machine Guns. They have dreadful sway, relatively low point fire responsiveness, and excessive recoil, especially when standing up.
They output suppression effects akin to Medium Machine Guns and are effective at all ranges when aimed carefully.
History
The MPT-76 entered serial production in 2015 after some initial tests going back to 2008. It was designed to replace the G3 issued at the time with a more accurate and reliable alternative. Since 2015, Turkey has been phasing out their old stock of G3s and is replacing them with the MPT-76.
