Gameplay[]

  • Mortars are stationary weapons that can be deployed as placement, or mounted on vehicles as armament.
  • Mortars have a ready magazine of 3 rounds. Mortars can fire the following ammunition:
    • High explosive rounds deal large damage at detonation. HE rounds can also damage or destroy deployables. (25 ammo for each magazine)
    • Smoke rounds provide a large smokescreen that lasts between 45 seconds to a minute and are perfect for long-range suppression, allowing for a large attack force to move in on a position. (25 ammo points for each magazine)
    • Both type of the magazine costs 25 ammo points each.
  • The maximum range of Mortars is 1250 m when launched at a level surface.
  • Using the WASD keys while aiming with the mortar will add/subtract 1 mil from your current angle or pivot slowly for more precise vectoring.
  • Factions have different models for Mortars, but their fire rate, damage models, and ballistic properties are the same.
    • Introduced in Alpha v15,[1] Mortars can damage armored vehicles on direct or very close (<1.5m) hits. Unarmored vehicles now also take damage from indirect mortar hits. (Fragmentation damage.)
    • The vehicle damage calculation is independent of its armored penetration value, which is set at 0.
