“ | This unconventional force of freedom fighters, para-military guerrillas and deserters roams across the Eastern European plains, causing chaos wherever they go. ~ In-game description |
The Irregular Militia Forces is a semi-fictional playable faction in Squad. This faction is the second generic unconventional faction featured in the game. They feature a wide variety of Eastern and Western weaponry and are featured in European-styled theaters.
History
Created by the people, for the people, the militia was raised out of necessity to defend their lands and communities in support of larger operations conducted by their native government military. Often, the militia is comprised of veterans of their country's military who pass down their training and experiences to the other citizen soldiers creating well-trained units. Relatively well-equipped, professional, and with a strong will to defend their country, the militia is a guerrilla unit that is a force to be reckoned with.
Flag
The flag of the Irregular Militia Forces features white and green pales in the background. The center of the flag contains an escutcheon with a double-headed eagle.
Kits and equipment
Most of the Militia's weapons feature relatively antiquated optics of the late Cold War period. This is somewhat made up for by the access to unique rifle grenades, anti-tank grenades, an abundance of rocket launchers, and camouflage nettings.

In-game Equipment
The Irregular Militia Forces uses a combination of mostly Eastern but some Western weaponry. Unlike the Insurgents, the Militia uses somewhat more modern weaponry when possible. With multiple unique offensive kits and defensive deployables, the IMF is well-equipped for both shock attacks and concentrated defenses.
Their vehicle arsenal has a slightly better selection regarding vehicle support than the Insurgents, including MT-LBM and BMP-2 with rapid-firing autocannons, modern up-armored technicals, armored logistic trucks, and the BM-21, the first multiple rocket launch system in-game.
