Now they pose a significant threat by holding various strategic corners of the countryside and have even made incursions into more urban environments.|In-game description}} The '''Insurgent Forces''' is a semi-fictional playable [[Factions|faction]] in [[Squad]]. This faction is the first generic unconventional faction featured in the game. They are featured on Middle-Eastern and Southern Asian style theaters, usually against conventional factions. == History == A direct response to foreign interventions, these combatants took up arms and defended their homelands against the tyranny of outsiders. Having spent years in conflicts with outside nations and other unconventional cells with little equipment or minimal funding, this highly trained group of fighters grew skilled in the art of guerrilla warfare, despite an outdated arsenal, the Insurgents use a variety of Soviet equipment, as well as western weaponry to combat their enemies. ==Flag== The Insurgent flag features a red half and a black half, bisected by a diagonal yellow line running down the the middle. The red half contains a white silhouette of an AK style rifle. ==Kits and equipment== Most of the Insurgents' weapons do not have optical sights, which can limit the ranged capability of their small arms. This is somewhat made up for by the abundance of high-caliber rifles, secondary handguns, fragmentation grenades, and Soviet Field Binoculars in almost every role's kit. {| class="wikitable" !Role Type !Role ! Unlike the [[Russian Ground Forces|Russians]] and the [[Irregular Militia Forces|Militia]], the Insurgents employ mostly older weapons from the mid-1940s to 1980s, primarily chambered in 7.62×39mm. Weapon choices are plenty. but optics are rare. Their clothing is as rag-tag and varied as their weaponry is. They are the only faction that can produce the deadly [[Improvised Explosive Device]]. The INS utilizes a large amount of Technicals, mounted with various armaments such as heavy machine guns, recoilless rifles, and makeshift [[UB-32|rocket pods]]. Heavy protections are limited to a few armored cars snatched from left-behind Soviet and American motor pools. Besides, they're also the only faction that doesn't employ autocannons of any kind but rather uses the [[ZU-23]] anti-aircraft guns as substitute autocannons. ===[[Weapons]]=== ===='''Small arms'''==== * [[AKM]] - Short Rifle * [[AKM-S|AKMS]] - Short Rifle * [[AMD-65]] - Short Rifle * [[PMD-63|PM md. 63]] - Short Rifle * [[AKS-74]] - Short Rifle * [[FN FAL]] - Battle Rifle * [[G3A3]] - Battle Rifle * [[SKS]] - Battle Rifle * [[PPSh-41]] - Submachine Gun * [[Vz. 61 Škorpion]] - Submachine Gun * [[RPK]] - Automatic Rifle * [[RPD]] - Light Machine Gun * [[PKM]] - Medium Machine Gun * [[SVD]] - Designated Marksman Rifle * [[Mosin Nagant M38]] - Sniper Rifle * [[Mosin Nagant M1891]] - Sniper Rifle * [[Makarov Pistol|PM Makarov]] - Pistol * [[TT-33 Tokarev|TT33 Tokarev]] - Pistol ==== '''Grenades and launchers''' ==== * [[F1 Grenade|F1]] - Fragmentation Grenade * [[RDG-2|RDG2]] - Smoke Grenade * [[RKG-3]] - Anti-Tank Grenade * [[GP-25 Grenade Launcher|GP-25]] - Underbarrel Grenade Launcher * [[RPG-7]] - Rocket Launcher * [[RPG-29]] - Rocket Launcher ==== '''Emplacements''' ==== * [[DShK-M|DshK]] - Heavy Machine Gun * [[SPG-9]] - Anti-Tank Gun * [[Mortar|M1937]] - Mortar * [[ZU-23-2|ZU-23]] - Anti-Aircraft Gun * [[Hell Cannon]] - Mortar ==== '''Equipment''' ==== * [[AKM Bayonet]] - Melee Weapon * [[SKS Bayonet]] - Melee Weapon * [[MPL50 Spade]] - Shovel * [[TM62 Anti-Tank Mine|TM62]] - Anti-Tank Mine * [[TNT 600g Explosive|TNT 600g]] - Explosive * [[Improvised Explosive Device]] - Explosive * [[Binoculars|Soviet Field Binoculars]] - Binoculars === [[Vehicles]]=== ===='''Land Vehicles'''==== *[[URAL 375D|Ural 375D Transport]] - Truck *[[URAL 375D|Ural 375D Logistics]] - Truck *[[URAL 375D|Ural 375D ZU-23-2]] - Truck / Artillery Vehicle *[[Minsk 400]] - Motorbike *[[Technical|Technical Transport]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical Logistics]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical DShK]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical M2]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical SPG-9]] - Tank Hunter *[[Technical|Technical BMP-1]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical UB-32]] - Light / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical ZU-23-2]] - Light / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Technical Mortar]] - Light Vehicle / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical Transport]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical Logistics]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical DShK]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical M2]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical SPG-9]] - Tank Hunter *[[Technical|Modern Technical BMP-1]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical UB-32]] - Light / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical ZU-23-2]] - Light / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Modern Technical Mortar]] - Light Vehicle / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Armored Technical DShK]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Armored Technical SPG-9]] - Tank Hunter *[[Technical|Armored Technical UB-32]] - Light / Artillery Vehicle *[[Technical|Armored Modern Technical DShK]] - Light Vehicle *[[Technical|Armored Modern Technical SPG-9]] - Tank Hunter *[[Technical|Armored Modern Technical UB-32]] - Light / Artillery Vehicle *[[M1151|M1151 Technical M2]] - Light Protected Vehicle *[[BRDM-2]] - Scout Car *[[MT-LB|MT-LB Logistics]] - Armored Personnel Carrier *[[MT-LB|MT-LB PKT]] - Armored Personnel Carrier *[[MT-LB|MT-LB ZU-23-2]] - Armored Personnel Carrier *[[BTR-80]] - Armored Personnel Carrier *[[BMP-1]] - Infantry Fighting Vehicle *[[BMP-1|BMP-1 ZU-23-2]] - Infantry Fighting Vehicle *[[T-62]] - Main Battle Tank ===='''Boats''' ==== *[[RHIB|RHIB Transport]] - Boat *[[RHIB|RHIB Logisitcs]] - Boat *[[RHIB|RHIB PKM]] - Boat *[[RHIB|RHIB DShk]] - Boat ===='''Aircraft''' ==== *[[Handheld Drone]]* - Reconnaissance Drone <nowiki>*</nowiki>Commander Asset == Units == {|class="wikitable_lch mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" data-expandtext="▼" data-collapsetext="▲" style="width: 100%" ; |- !colspan="4"|[[File:Insurgents_Flag.PNG|link=INS|23x15px]] Irregular Armored Squadron<br>[[File:Irregular Armored Squadron.png|center|frameless|120x120px]] |- |colspan="4"|An irregular armored squadron is a unique and adaptable military unit that stands apart from traditional armored formations. Angered at the domestic interference caused by foreign nations such as the Soviet Union and the United States, these groups dedicated themselves to preserving their perceived independence, traditions, and beliefs. ** In the early stages (pre-alpha) of the game, this faction was named the Taliban, a real-life radical Islamic political movement and recognized terrorist group that is currently in control of Afghanistan. It was renamed the Insurgents later on in the game. * Insurgent models were redone to create a more versatile look in Alpha v11, replacing its older "Taliban-looking" models.<ref>[https://www.reddit.com/r/joinsquad/comments/66p7wn/what_is_militia/dgk9v8f/ What is militia?]</ref><ref>[https://joinsquad.com/2018/05/04/alpha-11/ Alpha 11]</ref> *Along with the [[Irregular Militia]], tracers were removed from all [[weapons]] for the Insurgents faction as of Alpha v11.1. ==References== {{Reflist}} ==See Also== <br />{{Navbox factions}} [[Category:Factions]] [[de:Insurgents]] __FORCETOC__ __NOEDITSECTION__
