The Hi-Power Pistol is a handgun featured in Squad. It was introduced in the Alpha 15.3 update with the Canadian Army, is used by the Middle Eastern Alliance as of v1.0, and is used by the Australian Army as of v2.15.

• Hi-Power Pistol is available to four factions: the Australian Defence Force, Canadian Armed Forces, Western Private Military Contractors and Middle Eastern Alliance.
• The Middle Eastern Alliance (MEA) variant is a vintage P35 pistol with adjustable iron sights.

Gameplay

• The Hi-Power Pistol box magazine holds 13 rounds.
• Can be fired on only semi-automatic.
• The sights for the Hi-Power Pistol include the iron sights only, but P35 and other Hi-Power Pistol have different sights.
  • The P35 variant iron sights allow the user to zero the rifle for different ranges (from 50m to 500m).
  • The other Hi-Power variants have iron sights with a fixed zero of 25m.
• The Hi-Power Pistol has two damage model, depending on the variant.
  • The Middle Eastern Alliance P35 variant has slightly worse accuracy than other pistols at 5 MOA. It also has one of the worst muzzle velocities, at 335m/s.
  • On the contrary, the Australian Defence Force and Canadian Army variants have the standard pistol accuracy at 4 MOA, as well as the higher damage for pistols at 43, albeit barely noticeable in combat.
  • The 652 rounds per minute is the maximum allowed rate of fire for the semi-automatic pistol.
• The Hi-Power Pistol is classified in-game as the Pistol. Pistols are backup weapons with low stopping power and minimal suppression effect. They have moderate sway, regular point fire responsiveness, and slightly more recoil than Carbines due to their unsupported nature. Chaing stances have minimal impact on Pistol's recoil and sway.
• Using Pistols as a primary is not a good idea due to the low damage and severe damage dropoff at range, as they don't necessarily have more controllability than Short Rifles. But it can save your life in a pinch when the enemy is caught reloading or when your primary weapon is out of ammo.

History

The Browning Hi-Power is a single-action, semi-automatic handgun based on a design by American firearms inventor John Browning. The Hi-Power is one of the most widely used military pistols in history, having been used by the armed forces of over 50 countries. After 82 years of continuous production, the Hi-Power was discontinued in 2017 but remains in production.
