The G3SG1 is a special accurized variant of the G3A3 designed for sharpshooter use. It features a buttstock with an adjustable cheek weld, as well as lengthened handguard with an integrated folding bipod.
The G3SG/1 comes with a deployable bipod, allowing the weapon to rest stably on surfaces and drastically reduce its sway and recoil.
The only sight available for the G3SG/1 is its scope (6×).
The telescopic sight has a fixed magnification of 6×. The zero of the telescopic sight can be adjusted from 100-1000 meters, further enhancing its long-range precision.
G3SG/1 largely shares its damage model and ballistic performance with FN FAL and G3A3.
They have one of the highest damage for light weapons in-game, at 165. This damage offers devastating firepower, enabling one-shot kill capability at close to medium range.
The only difference being G3SG/1 has a higher accuracy of 1 MOA, whereas the regular rifles have 1.5 MOA.
The G3SG/1 is classified in-game as a Designated Marksman Rifle. Usually, marksman Rifles have handling characteristics similar to Battle Rifles. Compared to their battle rifle counterparts, they have more sway, slightly lower point fire responsiveness, and excessive recoil, especially when standing up.
The GS3G/1 is unique in this case as it shares handling characteristics with its battle rifle counterpart, the G3A3.
The GS3G/1 outputs suppression effects akin to Medium Machine Guns, similar to the battle rifles.
History
The G3SG/1 is a modified rifle for sharpshooter use introduced in 1972. The rifles were individually selected from the G3 production line for outstanding accuracy during test-firing and then modified by adding specialized attachments.
