The FGM-148 Javelin is an upcoming anti-tank weapon featured in Squad.

General Information

In 1996, the FGM-148 Javelin was bought by the US Military to replace the M47 Dragon as an Anti-Tank, Anti-Helicopter, and Anti-Personnel missile. After its success in US operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, other countries, including the United Kingdom and Australia, began to start their own contracts with Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, the designers, and producers of the Javelin.

The Javelin is a fire-and-forget weapon system. The missile uses heat to track its target. The weapon system has two modes of attack - direct attack and a top-down attack. The top-down attack allows the missile to hit the top of the vehicle, where the armor is often the softest. The fire-and-forget feature allows the person firing the missile to displace right after firing so they can get out of the enemy's line of sight quickly.
