Gameplay

• The AKS-74 box magazine holds 30 rounds.
• Can be fired on automatic and semi-automatic.
• The sights for the AKS-74 include 1P63 collimator sight and 1P29 (4×) optical sight.
  • The 1P63 collimator sight allows a serviceable sight picture for close-range combat, but it doesn't allow zeroing, limiting long-range effectiveness.
  • The 1P29 optical sight includes an older-styled trilux sight with an upside-down obelisk reticle and a built-in stadiametric rangefinder. The zeroing of the 1P29 can be adjusted from 100 meters to 400 meters, further enhancing its long-range precision.
• Arguably one of the weaker assault rifles in-game, AK74 and its variants have slightly less damage at 60 and an overall much shorter effective range, as well as a below-average bullet dispersion performance at 4 MOA.
• AKS-74 shares its damage model and ballistic performance with AK-12, AK-74 and AK-74M.
  • The 652 rounds per minute rate of fire is below average for an automatic weapon but makes the gun more controllable in close and medium range.
• AKS-74 is classified in-game as Short Rifle. Short rifles and Carbines are well-balanced in handling.
  • They output regular suppression effects, are relatively easy to point fire, and are effective at all ranges.

History

The AKS-74 is a gas-operated rotating bolt assault rifle. It is a folding stock variant of Kalashnikov's AK-74 assault rifle. Also, the AKS-74 uses 5.45x39 mm cartridges, just like its parent ak-74. The purpose of the folding stock of the AKS-74 is to make the weapon smaller when folded in order to make it easier to store and carry.

• The AKS-74 stands for Avtomat Kalashnikova Skladnoy obraztza 1974 goda (Автомат Калашникова Складной образца 1974 года) which means in English from Russian, "Kalashnikov automatic rifle model 1974, Folding."
